Off Season Fun
Here is a deer I killed in WA this year.  It scored 160 1/2 gross 157 1/4 net.  I had for several days and seen a couple in the 140 class but I did not shoot. I later checked a game cam I had at another stand and saw this buck had come in twice at about 2:oo pm. Five days later, I had not seen him hunting that stand 10 hrs a day and he had not gotten his pic taken since. The sixth day he came under me chasing a doe about ten minutes after daylight.  I shot him at 37 yds going away at a trot chasing the doe. I was afraid I may not see him for some time if ever again.  He went about 80yds after only getting one lung with the going away angle that I had.  Shooting a Mathews DXT with a 100 gr muzzy.

Move Toward Power Techniques Was Key For Clausen
Who's the best finesse-fisherman in the pro game today? There's no way to definitively answer that question, but if you offered up Luke Clausen's name, you certainly wouldn't be laughed out of the room.

The native Washingtonian has made a good deal of money throwing a shakey-head around in recent years. But it might surprise some BassFans to learn that he frequently steered away from the little worms this year in favor of power techniques. The result was a superb FLW Tour season that was marred by a horrible final day. Read More

That's why so many anglers across the country celebrate when the relief valve finally opens sometime in September or October, and the fish begin to transition to their early fall patterns.

That transition's fairly easy to track on a local lake. But what if you're headed to unfamiliar waters, perhaps for an end-of-year fishoff, or hard-earned vacation?

Bassmaster Classic and FLW Tour Championship winner Luke Clausen – aka Cool Hand Luke – recommends a sound starting point. Begin by calling out bluffs. Read More

One to Go
FLW Outdoors
Fall is here along with the final tournament of the year!  In just a couple days i will be heading to Clarks Hill for the final FLW eastern series event and my final event for the 2008 season.  Over the past month I have fished a couple of event in which I stayed in the top ten and had a couple of hunting trips where I ended up with nothing.  First I took a trip to Flagstaff, AZ to hunt for mule deer where we struggled to find the quality deer and left with an un-notched tag.  From there I went to Lake Champlain for the third FLW Series Eastern Division where I ended in 9th.
